Product Introduction:
Urea is an organic compound and the main end product of protein metabolism in mammals. Industrially, it is synthesized from ammonia and carbon dioxide under high pressure and is the solid nitrogen fertilizer with the highest nitrogen content (approximately 46.7%). The pure product is colorless, odorless, highly hygroscopic needle-like or prismatic crystals, while commercial products are often granulated to reduce hygroscopicity.
Application:
-
Agriculture: Used as a neutral quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer suitable for various soils and crops; also used as a feed additive for ruminants to partially replace protein.
-
Industrial: Serves as an important raw material for the production of urea-formaldehyde resins, melamine, cyanuric acid, and other chemical products.
-
Other applications: In the pharmaceutical field, it is used as a diuretic and dehydrating agent; in cosmetics, it acts as a moisturizer; it is also used in diesel vehicle exhaust fluid (AdBlue/diesel exhaust fluid) to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
